1) Engagement: People match with other users but don’t go on dates.

  • 70% of people on Tinder (one of the largest dating apps in the world, with 3.8 million+ paid subscribers) don’t actually meet up.

  • 33% off people across all apps and sites never meet up.

  • People get “Dating App Fatigue” after trying and failing to find successful relationships.

2) Incompatibility: Oftentimes, a date is determined by a picture.

  • Currently, photos and descriptions are the most important factors when swiping.

  • Many are associated with casual hookups, instead of long term relationships.

  • 64% of people who use online dating sites are looking for someone they have something in common with.

3) Catfishing: Users are nervous about their match across the screen.

  • 53% of people lie on their dating online profile (age, job/income, height).

  • 16% think there are issues with personal information security. 

  • Currently, photos and descriptions are the most important factors when swiping.
